+++ Your Christmas tree grows in Africa +++ How personalities shape sustainable tourism: Srebrenica - City of Hope +++

Liebe Leserinnen und Leser!

Die Themen Klimaschutz und Klimagerechtigkeit standen in diesem Jahr im Fokus unserer Arbeit. Sie sind die Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Umsetzung der UN-Agenda 2030 mit ihren 17 globalen Entwicklungszielen, die die Basis für ein gutes Leben für alle Menschen schaffen möchte. In diesem Sinn verabschiedete der XXV. Kongress der NFI im Oktober die Resolution „Klimagerecht in die Zukunft“. Darin formulieren wir unsere Forderungen an die Industrie- und Schwellenländer für mehr Klimagerechtigkeit – und stellen dar, was wir selbst dazu beitragen.
 
Hervorzuheben sind unsere Klimafonds-Projekte, die von afrikanischen Naturfreundeorganisationen umgesetzt werden. Diese leisten einen konkreten Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen in den Projektregionen, zum Klimaschutz und zu einer partnerschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit. Sie spenden Zuversicht und Hoffnung und sind ein Zeichen des solidarischen Miteinanders in unserer krisengeschüttelten Welt. respect_NFI-Gesprächszyklus: Srebrenica – City of Hope

Lerne die Gestalter*innen einer nachhaltigen Reisezukunft kennen! Irvin Mujčić von „Prijatelji Prirode Oaza Mira“ (Bosnische Naturfreunde) hat in seiner Heimat Bosnien nach dem Krieg den Grundstein für das Projekt „Srebrenica – City of Hope“ gelegt. Er berichtet darüber, wie nachhaltiger Wander-und Naturtourismus dabei hilft, die Gräben, die der Krieg hinterlassen hat, zuzuschütten und den Bewohner*innen eine Zukunftsperspektive zu geben. Tatkräftige Unterstützung kommt von den Naturfreunden Italien (GIAN) und den Naturfreunden Niederlande (NIVON). Christian Facchetti und Honger Huisman sprechen darüber, warum und wie sie das Projekt unterstützen.

Der "Global Tipping Points Report" zeigt, dass fünf große natürliche Systeme durch den Klimawandel bedroht sind: die Eisschilde Grönlands und der Westantarktis, die subpolare Wirbelzirkulation im Nordatlantik, die Warmwasserkorallenriffe und die Permafrostgebiete. Dear readers !

Climate protection and climate justice were the focus of our work this year. They are the prerequisite for the successful implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda with its 17 global development goals, which aims to create the basis for a good life for all people. With this in mind, the XXV Congress of the NFI adopted the resolution "Climate Justice for the Future" in October. In this resolution, we formulate our demands to industrialised and emerging countries for more climate justice - and outline what we ourselves are contributing to this.
Our climate fund projects implemented by African Naturefriends organisations are worthy of special mention. These make a concrete contribution to improving living conditions in the project regions, to climate protection and to partnership-based cooperation. respect_NFI conversation cycle: Srebrenica - City of Hope

Get to know the changemakers of tourism's sustainable future! Irvin Mujčić from "Prijatelji Prirode Oaza Mira" (Bosnian Naturefriends) laid the foundations for the "Srebrenica - City of Hope" project in his home country of Bosnia after the war. He reports on how sustainable hiking and nature tourism is helping to fill in the trenches left by the war and give the inhabitants a perspective for the future. Active support comes from Naturefriends Italy (GIAN) and Naturefriends Netherlands (NIVON). Christian Facchetti and Honger Huisman talk about why and how they are supporting the project.

    Memos – dates – internal

The "Global Tipping Points Report" shows that five major natural systems are threatened by climate change: the ice shields of Greenland and the West Antarctic, the subpolar gyre circulation in the North Atlantic, the warm-water coral reefs and the permafrost regions. The report proposes countermeasures and identifies the potential for technological and social change. More information -->

La protection du climat et la justice climatique ont été les thèmes majeurs de notre travail de cette année. Elles sont la condition préalable à la mise en œuvre réussie de l'Agenda 2030 de l'ONU et de ses 17 Objectifs de développement globaux, visant à créer la base d'une bonne vie pour tous les êtres humains. C'est dans cet esprit que le XXVe Congrès de l’IAN a adopté en octobre la résolution « Vers un avenir climatique équitable ». Nous y formulons nos revendications aux pays industrialisés et émergents pour plus de justice climatique – et présentons ce que nous pouvons apporter nous-mêmes.
Dans ce contexte il convient de souligner nos projets du Fonds pour le climat, mis en œuvre par les organisations africaines des Amis de la Nature. Ils contribuent concrètement à l'amélioration des conditions de vie dans les régions où se déroulent les projets, à la protection du climat et à une collaboration partenariale.     Nouvelles brèves – calendrier – informations internes

Le « Global Tipping Points Report » montre que cinq grands systèmes naturels sont menacés par le changement climatique : les calottes glaciaires du Groenland et de l'Antarctique occidental, la circulation gyroscopique subpolaire dans l'Atlantique Nord, les récifs coralliens d'eau chaude et les zones de permafrost.
